December 1941

It's a bit weird to look at the date December 6, 1941.
And as long as we're on the subject of "weird",
look what happened in Alabama highway history
the following, um, 'day of infamy'.....

Better fire up that motor car and take in this brand new stretch of highway
while you still have fresh tires and a full tank of gas.

And from the Webmaster's collection, The Birmingham News
extra edition from earlier that day. You can see, in the bedlam
of the moment, proofreading sort of, ummmm, well ...

Thousands of "A" cards tell me Greyhound soon became a very popular way to travel.  "Leave the Driving To Us" wouldn't be a choice for much longer!

But will it play your iPod?
