Even though Pizitz presented its Enchanted Forest display every year from 1964 to 1981, for some reason photos of it are very scarce.   Most people did not think of taking a camera with them when going Christmas shopping.   However, we are lucky that forty years ago, in 1973, your beloved co-host Tim Hollis took his little Kodak on his annual visit and made a relatively thorough documentation of how the Forest looked that particular year.

In 1972, Hollis had begun a correspondence with Pizitz's display director (later known as visual merchandising manager) Jim Luker, who had taken over design work of the Forest in 1969.   This may explain why Hollis picked this year to make photos.

With a single exception, which you shall soon see, Hollis's photos are the only known set taken of the Forest in any year.   If any Rewound readers still have photos from their visits to the Enchanted Forest, no matter how early or how late they were made, we urge you with all sincerity to get copies of them to us!

Now, let's head up the escalator (or elevator) to Pizitz's sixth floor, where the gleaming glow of twinkling lights beckons to us from the far northeastern corner of the store.......
