December 1968

Above, in case You Care, is how that A&P - built in their iconic "Colonial" style - looks today.
Creepy, ain't it?  Another building has long since gone up over the left side of the old parking lot.

A lot of these old buildings have been repurposed in a multitude of ways.  But there aren't too many left with much of the original appointments still intact, such as the palladium, vane and fence-like "wings."

(The old A&P - uphill from "The Curve" across from Sike's Shoes - was a more visible location.  While the 'new' one was convenient to its neighborhood, it was far off the beaten path.  My grandmother, who lived in Homewood, considered it - in her vernacular - "Way out of the way.")
