Kind of odd to see "hillbilly" music being advertised at 610 on the dial.   This was on the cusp of when WSGN brought the "top 40" format, and rock 'n' roll, fulltime to Birmingham.

The early days of what would evolve into one of the most memorable rock 'n' roll concert series in the South!


So now we know who was on the other end of the line when Donna Reed
picked up the phone in the opening of her '60s sitcom.
