Sadly, there was scandal at the Utopia Variety Show the previous week.  Joan Crawford was a guest performer, and was thrown off the bill after an big outburst.  The sponsor did not appreciate Miss Crawford's disparaging remarks about the type of clothes hangers the company used. 

No, we don't know what the important message was, unless it was "Pizitz has a big sale beginning Monday!"
