Kelly's Hamburgers - Eastwood Mall
It began around 1966-67 as a location for the short-lived WAGON HO hamburger chain.  Their claim to fame was being the first drive-up fast-food outfit ... a concept executed more successfully decades later by the likes of Checker's, Rally's, and others.

Wagon Ho's buildings were something to behold -- the roof was in the shape of a conestoga wagon, complete with a life-size 'wagoneer.'

Kelly's Hamburgers, one of several Birmingham fast-food restaurants back in the day, took over operation of the little conestoga building after Wagon Ho folded.  Eventually it would become a Dilly's Deli before going out of business entirely some time in the late '80s.

Today, the building is gone, but a deteriorating, rusting sign remains.

(If anyone has pictures of this building as a Wagon Ho ... or, for that matter, any info or pictures of other Wagon Ho locations, please let me know!)
