Highway 78 - East Thomas area
Looking eastward on US-78 coming off the railroad overpass ... on the right is the Westgate Shopping Center.  The sign has remained relatively unchanged in some 40 years.  Remember Miller's Discount Center ... or Site gasoline?

One of the Webmaster's earliest memories is of this Miller's store.  I was 4 years old (1969), and with my grandfather, who was looking for some paint.  He was at an endcap display, picked up a gallon ... and the bottom fell out, spilling paint all over the floor!

The Pure sign was for a truck stop and restaurant which existed there for many years.  A circa-'60s picture of that truck stop may be seen below.

Goodbye Miller's, Hello Bargain Town USA!  The unpainted portion of the support post clearly indicates where the old Miller's signage once sat.
